In "Writing to Connect", a chapter in Mary Pipher's book Wrting to Change the World, she writes about how people can write and change the world while only trying to change a specific part. For example, Upton Sinclair wrote a piece to inform people about immigrant workers and poor working conditions for immigrants. However, this piece brought new laws for meat industry factories all over the nation (Pipher 202).
As Mary Pipher writes, she writes to connect with her readers and make an impact in some way. She writes about topics that have heart and are actually worth reading about. Also, Pipher gives credit to others that do the same thing. I like how she writes about reality and topics that actually have meaning.
I also feel that Mary Pipher can keep a reader's interest. She writes for her audience. Not only does she entertain her audience, but she educates and informs her audience as well. Not many writers can do both of those at the same time. She has a real talent and I admire her writing.
